“Common Sense” Education

Keep it simple.

Have you ever think of questions like “what makes this teacher so effective?”

Effective teaching centres on the quality of communication in understanding the needs of the students. Although communication is often though of as a mutual exchange of words, verbally or textually, there is more to meet the eyes than this.

There is a saying,

“We can write than we can speak and
we can speak less than we are thinking.”

Speaking and writing are means of communication of ideas and thoughts but they only represent the tip of the iceberg when we talk the underlying dynamics in a students’ mind. Thus the key to teaching is to understand what drives the students’ thinking from the very limited information given to the teachers through writing or verbal interaction.

Through a series of tools and reports, “Common Sense” will help the students see for themselves where are their mistakes and by identifying the trends in their mistakes, sieve the subtle yet important schemas, misconceptions they have.

“Common Sense” methodology also centres about the philosophy of building concepts on everyday experiences so that it makes physical sense to the students. Once a new concept makes sense, retention rate is higher and most importantly, the student is more likely to internalize and apply it.
